ABOUT THE PROJECT
This isn't a client service. It's a personal, ongoing body of work I'm building outside of paid sessions — a project about showing people, love, and bodies exactly as they are, in every shape, size, and stage of life.
Most of the photography world still tells a pretty narrow story about who's worth photographing and how. This project exists to push back on that — one real person, one real story, at a time. Every session under All Shapes is free. In exchange, the resulting images become part of my personal portfolio, and may be submitted to galleries, exhibitions, publications, or photo contests.
who is this for?

I'm looking for stories that connect to the theme of All Shapes — people, families, or beings whose story is unique, underrepresented, or important to tell. That might look like:

Someone whose body, identity, or life stage isn't usually centered in photography

A love story that doesn't fit the "typical" mold

A milestone or chapter that deserves to be documented, but wouldn't otherwise be

A story you think the world needs to see more of

You can nominate someone else, or nominate yourself if it's your story to tell.
WHAT THIS ISN'T
To keep this project meaningful (and doable alongside my client work), a few things it's not:

Not a free or discounted alternative to a branding, family, or event session

Not a way to book me for a networking event, corporate headshots, or general business content

Not guaranteed — I'm intentionally selective about which stories I take on, so not every nomination will be chosen

Not paid client work of any kind — this is a personal art project, separate from Snapshot, Signature, and Extended Sessions

A space for me to judge. If your application isn't selected, it doesn't mean your story wasn't worth being told. This project offers limited capacity and I do my best to fit in as many sessions as possible
HOW IT WORKS

Nominate — submit the form below, either for yourself or someone else. Tell me the story, honestly and in your own words.

Review — I go through nominations personally and select stories that connect with the project's theme. Because I'm intentional about which projects I take on, not every submission will move forward.

If selected, I'll reach out directly to talk through the story, what the session would look like, and get consent for how the images may be used (portfolio, galleries, exhibitions, contests, etc.)

The session — free of charge, documentary-style, same care and approach as my paid work.
WHY THOUGH?
I've spent enough time behind a camera to know that most of the photography industry still tells a pretty narrow story about who gets to be photographed, and how. Certain bodies, certain ages, certain kinds of love get centered — everyone else gets left out of the frame, or told to shrink themselves to fit into it.
I don't believe that. I never have. My whole approach to this work has always been about capturing people as they actually are — not the retouched, camera-ready version, but the real one. All Shapes is that belief taken further: a project built entirely around the stories and people who don't usually get the spotlight, told exactly as they are, with no expectation to look, act, or be anything other than themselves.
This is personal work, not a marketing arm of my business. It exists because I think there's real value — for the people in front of the camera and for anyone who sees the images after — in seeing more of what "worth photographing" can actually look like.
QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE...
Is this really free?
Yes. No cost to you. In return, I retain creative and portfolio rights to the images, and may submit them to galleries, exhibitions, or contests
Will I get to see/keep the photos?
Yes — you'll receive a gallery of your own, same as any client.
Can I nominate my business or a networking connection?
No — this project is specifically for personal stories, not business or professional networking content.
What if I'm not selected?
Because this is a personal project and I'm intentional about which stories I take on, not every nomination moves forward. That's not a reflection on the story — just on scope and timing.
Can I nominate more than one person, or nominate again later?
Yes, you can nominate one person or the same person for a different story but to keep up with applications, I ask that you limit one application per story.
